Turtl Docs can be used to support your existing SEO strategy, playing a complementary role to your existing content types (but not intended to fully replace traditional blogs, etc.). Here are some tips to aid search engines in understanding the context of your content and creating a stronger signal between your website and Turtl Docs.

Embedding

To help search engines such as Google and Bing understand how a Turtl Doc relates to the other content on your website, we suggest embedding the Doc within its own landing page. We recommend the standard Turtl embed, which will open in a Lightbox or, alternatively, via a hyperlink opening in a new or existing tab.

This will allow you to:

  • Create separate title tags, meta descriptions, and headings for your page (if your content management system will enable you to do so).

  • Add links from other relevant pages on your site.

Additionally, introducing your Turtl Doc with one or more paragraphs about the content (with a focus on the relevant keywords) will provide context for the search engines.

An example of this can be found on our webpage Content Psychology 101.

Deep linking

Each Turtl Doc consists of a series of HTML pages and therefore you can place a link directly to the most relevant page in a Turtl Doc, using text or an image on your website.

Adding a link to a relevant word or phrase will provide context to the search engines.

An example of this can be seen under section 3 of the 5 of the best underrated marketing strategies in 2022 blog article which has the text 5x more friendly linked directly to the fourth chapter of a Doc.
