How to track Turtl-influenced pipeline and revenue using Microsoft Dynamics

Connect engagement insights to your CRM with Turtl and Microsoft Dynamics

Notes:

  • The CRM integration feature is available on our Grow AI and Scale AI plans. Please contact support if you want to upgrade your plan.

  • To view revenue analytics, Known Contacts will need to be enabled. Revenue analytics requires individual contact data. Take a look at our article here for more details.

This article explains how to configure Microsoft Dynamics 365 deal data in Turtl to enable the Revenue Dashboard and view accurate revenue and pipeline analytics for your content.

Once set up, you can analyse what Turtl content influence deals, pipeline progression, and revenue performance.

Install and configure your Microsoft Dynamics integration

Install and configure Microsoft Dynamics integration. Follow the steps in this article.

Identify known contacts with your CRM connection

To get meaningful Revenue Analytics, you’ll need to identify individual contacts.

We recommend having at least 10 contacts before setting up Revenue Analytics. Ensure you are identifying contacts in Turtl with MS Dynamics or any of our other available CRM connections.

Check this section of the "How to get individual contact analytics in Turtl" article to learn how to identify and start collecting individual contact analytics using your CRM connection.

There are two ways to identify contacts with the Dynamics integration:

  • Via Lead Capture URL: Send your existing contacts a Turtl content link containing a Lead Capture URL. When they open it, Turtl pulls their name and email from Dynamics and identifies them as a contact in your Analytics dashboard. See Emailing Lead Capture URLs with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for full setup steps.

  • Via Intent Signal Matching: If you have Microsoft Dynamics Customer Insights – Journey, you can enable a tracking script that passively identifies readers as contacts. If a reader has already been identified on your other websites or apps, Turtl can recognise this and request their contact data from Dynamics. If the contact exists in Dynamics, their information will be displayed in Turtl Analytics.
See our Microsoft Dynamcs tracking script article for more details.

To enable the Dynamics tracking code:

    1. In Dynamics, navigate to CI-J Settings > Website behavioral analytics > Add tracking script CI-J.

    2. Copy your tracking script.

    3. In Turtl, click Integrate in the left-hand menu and select Microsoft Dynamics 365.

    4. Navigate to the Contact Intent Data section and paste your tracking script.

    5. Toggle on the setting to enable the tracking code across your content.

Enable deal data syncing

Before configuring your pipeline, please ensure you enable deal data syncing.

  1. In Turtl, go to Integrate

  2. Select Microsoft Dynamics 365

  3. Open Settings

  4. Navigate to Prove ROI with revenue data

  5. Turn on Sync deal data and enable revenue analytics

This allows Turtl to pull deal and pipeline data from Microsoft Dynamics.

Configure your pipeline and deal data

Once deal data syncing is enabled, use the Deal Data Configurator to define how Microsoft Dynamics deal data is processed.

1. Select a Dynamics pipeline

2. Map deal fields

Map the relevant Dynamics opportunity fields to match your data, such as:

  • Deal name

  • Amount

  • Create date

  • Close Date

These fields are used to calculate revenue, pipeline value, and deal influence.

3. Map deal stages

Map your Dynamics deal stages to the following categories:

  • Open

  • Won

  • Lost

This enables Turtl to track deal progression accurately throughout the pipeline.

4. Filter deals (optional)

Apply filters if you need a more complex setup, such as including only specific deal types or regions.

5. Set currency

Currency is set at the team level and follows your account settings. For multi-currency Dynamics accounts, per-deal currency is read from the opportunity's transaction currency field.

6. Review and save

Review the deal table preview at the bottom of the configurator to confirm which data Turtl will process.

Click Save to complete the setup.

Deal data refreshes automatically once per day. After a few minutes, your Dynamics deal data will begin appearing in Revenue Analytics.

Using the Revenue Dashboard

Once setup is complete, go to the Revenue Dashboard to view insights such as:

  • Revenue and ROI influenced by Turtl content

  • Deals and pipeline stages impacted by your content.

  • Hidden opportunities within your pipeline

  • Which content pieces generated the most revenue

You can also use Hatch AI within the dashboard to get tips and recommendations to help grow your revenue impact.
