Note: This feature is available if you have purchased the Personalization module and are on a Professional or Unlimited plan.

Data Sources are used to pull data from external systems into personalization forms and push these personalizations back into the CRM. Learn more about data sources here.

It’s important when setting up your Turtl Doc for personalization via data sources to test that the contact information is being pulled correctly from your chosen external system. To test this, you will need to select the CRM you would like to pull information from and then enter a contact Id to preview how the different fields will appear for your reader.

Note: A contact Id is an identification number unique to each contact within your external platform.

Finding the HubSpot Contact Id

To find the contact Id in HubSpot, navigate to the Contacts tab at the top of the page of your HubSpot account. Open a specific contact record and here you will find the Id in the address bar on your browser. The Id is the second string of numbers in the URL following the parameter /contact.

For example in the screenshot above, the contact Id is 14391617.

Finding the Marketo Contact Id

To find the contact Id in Marketo, navigate to the Database tab in your Marketo account. Next, open "System Smart Lists" -> "All people"-> "People" tab to find the lead Id in the first column:

For example, the contact Id for the contact highlighted in the screenshot is 1.

Finding the Salesforce Lead Id

If you are using Salesforce Lightning, you can find the lead Id by navigating to the lead tab and selecting a specific record. Here you will see an 18-character contact Id in the address bar on your browser.

For example in the screenshot above, the lead Id is 00Q4L000002pVOfUAM.

If you are using Salesforce Classic, you can find the lead Id by navigating to the lead tab and selecting a specific record. Here you will see a 15-character contact Id in the address bar on your browser.

For example in the screenshot above, the lead Id is 00Q4L000002pVOf.

Both the 15-character Id and 18-character Ids are accepted. Follow this Salesforce article regarding record Ids for further information.
