Saving the GIF
To upload the GIF to LinkedIn, start by saving it using the following steps:
Access the share tools of your Doc by any of these methods:
Click on the email tab, right-click on the GIF preview, and then save the image.
Alternatively, if you do not have editing access or want to save the GIF image quickly, you can also do it this by adding
assets/teaser.gif
to the end of the URL
For example, the Turtl Doc URL:https://team.turtl.co/story/meet-the-turtl-doc/
becomes:
https://team.turtl.co/story/meet-the-turtl-doc/assets/teaser.gif
Right-click on the GIF preview and then save the image
Uploading the GIF to LinkedIn:
Upload the saved image into LinkedIn when setting up your ad, where it says "Upload or select".
Upload the GIF to your Image Library.
This should load the animated GIF to your ad.
If the only button that is visible is "upload", it will direct you to upload an image from your files.
Tips:
If the GIF you uploaded is static, try saving your ad, clicking away from it, and then coming back. The "Upload or select" button should show up again, and you can pick the GIF from the Image Library. This version should display as expected
Ensure that the "destination" URL and the "Landing page" URL in the Confirmation section of your LinkedIn lead gen form are populated with the correct Turtl Doc URL. This will ensure that once a lead has submitted their details in the form, the CTA button will lead them to the Turtl Doc that you’re advertising.
Click the "Preview" button on your ads and enter your own details as a check to ensure that the lead gen ad is functioning correctly and is directing your leads to the correct content.
LinkedIn Organic
For organic socials, you can simply upload the GIF as an image; however, if you post straight from LinkedIn, it won’t be hyperlinked, so you will need to add links to the copy and comments of your post.
The way around this, we have found, is to use Agorapulse (or any other social scheduling tool).
Click on "Create a post".
In the text box, when you enter the URL of the content you would like to link to, it will show up like this. This will also work for UTM-tagged links.
In the "Link Attachment" section, click on the + sign and upload the GIF that you’ve saved from your computer.
Now, you have the GIF in the post, and it is hyperlinked, so you can schedule your post now or for later.
Adding A Doc Video To Your Post
Alternatively, you can upload a video flipping through the Doc and add a link to it on LinkedIn.
To do this:
Simply make a screen recording, flipping through the Doc.
Upload the video using the "Media button".
Add a description, and click "Post".
