If you are using a form provider or CRM, you can manually specify a form to be used on each Doc. This will be used instead of the native Turtl form and any other custom CRM forms that may have been configured in your account.

The benefits of third-party lead capture forms compared to native Turtl forms are the following:

  • Native Turtl forms come with only two fields: name and email, whereas third-party forms offer more flexibility.

  • The leads are sent directly to your CRM (not stored in Turtl), where they can be further used for your marketing campaigns and various business purposes.

  • Third-party lead capture forms can be used on the cover to gate the Turtl Doc.

1. Enable lead capture forms

Please follow the steps in this article.

2. Navigate to the Settings screen for your Doc

Click the down arrow next to the Edit button for your doc and click Settings:

3. Select the Forms tab and specify the URL for your form

There are three form URLs you can specify:

  1. Default Form URL - This URL will be used for both the Content page and back cover forms unless the back cover form URL is also set.

  2. Cover Form URL - This URL can be used to add a form on the very first Title page of your content. Readers will not be able to read or navigate past the first page without entering their details.

  3. Back cover form URL - This can be used to set a different form for the back cover. If this is left blank, the form set as Form URL will be used on the back cover.

Find out more on enabling the form in your Content page sections or back cover here.

4. Set a default form for all Docs in your account

If you are an Admin you can also set a default form for all docs in your account. To do this, navigate to the "Manage Integrations" tab and select the iFrame form tab. If you do not see the iFrame form tab, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or Customer Support and we can enable this for you.

In the iFrame form settings, you can specify the following form URLs:

  1. Form URL - This URL will be used for both the Content page and back cover forms unless the back cover form URL is also set.

  2. Back cover form URL - This can be used to set a different form for the back cover. If this is left blank, the form set as Form URL will be used on the back cover.

  3. Auto-capture URL - This URL will auto-capture information from the reader's cookie.

5. Please make sure your form is properly configured for use with Turtl by following our guides

Is your form not on the list? Follow the steps in this support article on how to embed any 3rd-party form into your Turtl Doc.

Note: If this is the first time your company has added a form to Turtl it will not have styling applied. Please contact your Customer Success Manager or Customer Support once your form has been added to your Turtl Doc and we will style it for you.
