Turtl supports embedding Eloqua forms in place of the default Turtl lead capture form. For this to work correctly, the Eloqua forms themselves need to be configured to ensure they will render and behave correctly in Turtl. This document steps you through that process.
1. Create your Thank you page
First, you need to create a “Thank you” page for your form. Your readers will be redirected here once they have completed your form. Note that any content you add to this page will only be visible when the form is complete on the backcover of a Story - in Immerse mode the reader will simply be directed to the next piece of content without ever seeing this page.
Begin by creating a new Landing Page and choose the “Blank Landing Page” option:
Set your landing page Title, Vanity URL and other settings as usual. Then, click Tools from the toolbar and choose the Page Snippet Tools tab.
Now click the “Open JS Editor…” button and paste in the following code:
You will need to replace
ELOQUA_SITE_ID in the above with your Eloqua site id. If you do not know this, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org who will help you locate it.
Now add any additional wording you want readers to see once they have filled in your form, bearing in mind that this will only be visible on the backcover.
When finished, save this page and remember the URL you assigned.
2. Create your form
Next, create your Eloqua form as usual via the Eloqua form creation tools. You can use all the usual hidden fields, templates and other elements you are familiar with.
When creating your processing steps, make sure you include a Redirect to Web Page step which sends readers to the Thank you page you created in Step 1:
3. Create your form Landing Page
Next, you need to create a Landing Page to contain your form. Again, choose the “Blank Landing Page” option:
Then use the Form option from the toolbar to add the form you created in Step 1 to the page:
You can position the form wherever you like on the page and do not need to worry about styling – Turtl will take care of this for you.
Again, click the “Open JS Editor…” as in Step 1:
This time, paste in the following:
Save your Landing Page and send the URL to your Customer Success Manager. They will get your form checked and added to your Turtl account.
If you have any questions on this or any other aspect of Turtl, please do get in touch with your Customer Success Manager.
