Learn how to quickly access most common widget settings and editing functions

The Widget menu is a pop-up menu that appears on the Preview screen. It contains the most commonly used editing functions and settings associated with the selected widget.

It can be accessed by right-clicking on a widget or left-clicking on the three-dot icon when hovering over a widget.

In this article, you will learn how to use shortcuts in the widget menu to adjust the styling, move the widget to a different page, bring it to the front or back, delete it, or perform other actions.

Let’s look at these in more detail.


Widget menu options

Styles: Choose a widget style from various options pre-defined by your brand theme.

Text wrap: Break Text box text around the widget. Only available on Freeform pages.

Duplicate: Duplicate a widget.

Move: Move a widget to another page.

Arrange: Bring a widget to the front or send it to the back.

More settings: Opens a window with extended settings.

Bookmark: Create or update a bookmark on a widget.

Delete: Deletes a widget.

Pin widget in place/Unpin widget: Pin or unpin widget from a Content Page. Only available on Column pages.

Some widgets offer some additional options:

Background opacity: Adjust the widget’s background.

Corner radius: Round a widget’s corners.

Personalization: Create or select the personalization token for a widget


Specialized widget menu options

These options are unique to a selected widget type and help you efficiently adjust the frequently accessed settings for a widget from Preview.

Text box widget

Vertical alignment: Changes text vertical alignment for Headings, Text boxes, and CTAs.

Column count: The number of columns within a Text box. Only available on Freeform pages.

Image widget

Flip vertically: Flips an image vertically.

Flip horizontally: Flips an image horizontally.

Replace image: Choose another image in place of the current one.

Crop image: Crop image to improve overall composition or remove unnecessary elements.

Fill frame with image: Scales the image to ensure that the entire widget frame is filled.


Change a widget style

The "Style" setting is one of the options that all widgets have in common.

  1. Hover over a widget in the Preview Editor. Right-click on it or click on the three-dot icon.

  2. Move to the menu option "Style".

  3. Choose your style from various options pre-defined by your brand theme.


Change a widget background opacity

Background opacity is a menu option that is not available for all widgets. It can be adjusted for Headings, Text Boxes, CTAs, and Polls.

  1. Hover over a widget in Preview. Right-click on it or click on the three-dot icon.

  2. Click on the "Background opacity" option in the context menu.

  3. A widget configuration window will open.

  4. Adjust the Background opacity with the slider.

  5. Press "OK" to save your changes.


Replace an image

"Replace image" is a menu option that is unique to an image widget and only displays in the image widget context menu

  1. Hover over an Image widget in Preview. Right-click on it or click on the three-dot icon.

  2. Click on the "Replace image" option in the context menu.

  3. Choose a new image to replace the original image, keeping the same dimensions and arrangements.


Change the corner radius of a widget

  1. Hover over a widget in Preview. Right-click on it or click on the three-dot icon.

  2. Click on the "Corner radius" option in the Widget menu.

  3. The widget configuration window opens.

  4. Choose to set all the corners at once or each one individually.

  5. Enter the rounding values in em.

  6. Press "OK" to save your changes.

  1. Hover over a widget in Preview. Right-click on it or click on the three-dot icon.

  2. Click on the "Arrange" option in the Widget menu.

  3. Choose to bring the selected widget to the front or send it to the back.

Note: This can reorder content in the Content page editor which affects the mobile view.


Vertically align text in a Text Box

  1. Hover over a widget in Preview. Right-click on it or click on the three-dot icon.

  2. Click on the "Vertical alignment" option in the Widget menu.

  3. Choose your preferred text alignment: top, middle, or bottom.
