Quote widgets are a simple way to break up content on Content pages while also giving your readers the chance to engage with your Turtl Doc and share your content on social media.

In this article, we'll walk you through the basics of adding, configuring, sharing, and resizing Quote widgets.

Add a Quote widget

  1. Click the "+ Add content" button.

  2. Select "Quote" from the Content menu.

3. Type your quote and credit someone

Configuration and sharing

How to access Quote settings

Hover over a Quote widget in the Content page editor until the Widget toolbar appears, then click on "Settings".

Alternatively, hover over a Quote widget in Preview. Right-click on it or click on the three-dot icon, then click on "More settings".

Enabling sharing

Toggle "Allow sharing?", then click "OK".

Bespoke sharing link

If a reader decides to share your quote on social networks, the social card will include the Doc link.

This allows their followers to easily access your content, which is a great way to obtain a wider audience and drive further reads.

You can swap the default Turtl Doc link with a different URL in the Quote configuration. To restore the default leave the field empty.

Notes:

  • The networks where readers can share your content depend on your company's sharing settings.

• If sharing is disabled for the entire document, sharing options won't be visible to readers, even if the sharing toggle for a specific quote is turned on.

Bespoke X post

If a reader decides to share your quote on X (previously Twitter), the X post is automatically populated with the quote itself.

However, you can choose to override this with different text by populating the "X POST" field.

To restore the quote as the default X post, just leave the box blank.

Quote style

You may have access to several Quote styles that are predefined by your brand theme. They allow you to quickly change the formatting of your text, quote icons, or add additional elements such as lines or icons all while staying within your brand design guidelines.
