The Immerse editor offers several easy-to-use widgets that can help to make your content more engaging, visual, and interactive.

Each widget opens in your Turtl Doc itself, keeping your readers in your content. For example, your reader can explore a map from Google on the Immerse page while reading the adjacent content. No extra tabs or windows are required.

In order to boost your content's interactivity and keep your readers engaged, we recommend that you include at least one widget per page. Let's look at each widget in detail:

Polls

Enhance engagement by adding a poll to your Doc.

Polls are a great way to gather feedback, gauge audience opinions, or simply add an interactive element to your content. Once you've added a poll widget, you have the flexibility to choose between a single-choice or multiple-choice poll.

The possibility to display or hide poll results gives you complete control over the appearance and functionality of your poll.

Images

Add images to your Immerse pages using the image widget. This is one of the easiest ways to break up text and make your content look more appealing. Once inserted, there are a number of formatting options available, such as zooming, adding captions, and hyperlinking your image to an external URL or another Turtl Doc.

Quotes

Add shareable quotations to your text to draw your reader's eye to the most important elements of your content. Quotes are shareable across social media and email (you can enable/disable this functionality where required). Find out how to add quotations here.

Charts

Instead of including important data as static charts, spruce up your reading experience with the interactive chart widget. This makes data more visually appealing and encourages your readers to engage directly with the information. You can add any interactive charts created with the following cloud-based third-party providers:

  • Everviz

  • ChartBlocks

  • Infogram

Video

This widget inserts hosted videos that play directly on your Immerse page. A reliable way to boost page engagement, videos tend to increase time spent on-page. In your Doc analytics, you can see how many times your video has been viewed, and for how long.

Videos need to be hosted online and URLs can be used from:

  • Youtube / Youtube playlist

  • Vimeo

  • Wistia

  • Vidyard

  • Brightcove

  • VBrick

  • any MP4 / WEBM video which is hosted online

Audio

You can include audio within your Immerse level, as long as the audio is in an MP3 format and is hosted online.  Find out more here.

Maps

The Google Maps widget allows your readers to open and explore your map directly within the Turtl Doc, reducing the need for external pages and tabs.

PDF

You can include any PDF file that is hosted online within your content. All you need is the URL of the PDF content. Your readers can view the entire PDF from within the Turtl Doc, keeping them within your content for longer. Find out more here

Text Boxes

Text boxes are ideal for directing your reader to an important snippet of your content. These can be styled as part of your brand theme, meaning that you can choose from a selection of predefined styles. Your theme may include theme-colored boxes or specialized icons and graphics. Below is an example of text inserted with the feature box widget. You can find out more here.
