Immerse pages sit under your Surf pages and contain your content. Let's take a look at how to format your text for an Immerse page and increase your content interactivity with videos, maps, and other widgets.

Creating Immerse pages

Create an Immerse page for a Surf section by selecting the Immerse tab within the editor and toggling the Immerse page on or off.

Once your Immerse level is enabled you can select how many columns (1-5) you want to apply to the section using the drop-down menu. You might choose to have fewer columns if you're planning to add large images, and more columns if you want your Immerse page to be mostly text-based.

Next, click edit content to access the Immerse editor and start adding text to your page.

The column layout and style can be adjusted from the Immerse section as well.

Different column layouts

This 4-minutes video covers:

  • How assets and text adjust with different column layouts

  • How to change the column structure once the content is placed in the editor

  • How to manage text and assets across different column layouts

  • How to use feature boxes and pinning to create interesting page designs

Adding content

Type directly into the editor or paste text to add your content.

Adding templates

You can choose a template to populate a new Immerse page. This can be a great time-saver for those who frequently create similar types of content, as well as for those who are new to the software and want a starting point for their design.

To add a template, hover over the Immerse outline and click the '+' icon. The Immerse template window will appear displaying a variety of template options for you to choose from. The templates that appear are aligned with the number of columns in your Immerse section.

Previewing pages

Desktop view

You'll notice that there's a preview of your Immerse page to the right of your input text. By default, this is a preview of what your page looks like in desktop view.

Mobile view

Switch to mobile preview to see how your content will look on mobile devices (in portrait) by clicking the mobile icon at the top of the editor. More on mobile view here.

Aligning content

Use the Immerse grid to view your Immerse level with a line-grid applied. This allows you to easily line up content across columns and make sure your images are the same height.

Formatting text

Your text automatically has your brand styling applied, making it really easy for you to create consistent on-brand content. Choose different heading styles and body text sizes using the format dropdown. You can also select drop caps here if this option is included in your theme (see below).

What Are Drop Caps?

A drop cap is a large capital letter that you can insert in your text to add style and emphasis. You can add drop caps to any free-flowing text.

You also have the option to apply bold, italic, underline, superscript, bullet/numbered lists, and change the color of the text using the format buttons.

Apply different alignments of text within the columns using the relevant buttons.

Adding visual and interactive elements to your content

Use the Immerse widgets to add features to your Immerse pages, such as maps, sharable quotations, and images.

You can span and resize your widgets across columns to create interesting and variable layouts. Find out more here.

Adding links to your content

Use the link and unlink buttons to add or remove a link from your Immerse text.

Once you've clicked the link button you'll be able to:

  • Choose to link to a URL, email address, or Surf page within your content using the link dropdown

  • Choose how the link should be styled using the style drop-down (styles must have been configured as part of your branding)

Adding column and page breaks

Use the column and page break buttons to force a break in your Immerse content. The text below your column or page break will automatically begin on the next column/page.

Click Back to Editor when you've finished editing your Immerse pages for this section, and are ready to make changes to other parts of your content.

Focus in editor buttons

You can easily find a widget's location using the Focus in editor or Focus in preview buttons.

The UI automatically jumps the widget's location.
