Title pages divide your content into Chapters, allowing readers to quickly find the content they are most interested in.

To create or edit the Title page, first select one in the outline below:

You can now add an image/video, insert some text, and choose some styling options to create your page.

Add an image or video

Hover over the Background thumbnail and select image/video:

Use the Upload image/video dialogue to select your image from a variety of sources.

Note: The uploaded image will always be a full background image. If you upload another image, it will replace the previous image as it is not possible to insert multiple images into a single Title page.

Crop or re-position your image

If an image has been uploaded, it can be cropped and re-positioned using the "Crop" icon:

Note: It is currently not possible to crop videos or GIFs with our cropping tool.

Choose a fallback image for your video

If you have uploaded a video you will need to choose a frame for it to fall back to. This image will be used when generating the sharing assets for your Turtl Doc (this includes the animated GIF and the website embed code) and the thumbnail image in the contents of your Turtl Doc.

Start by clicking the "Pick-frame" icon.

Then drag the slider to the frame of the video you want to use.

Add some text

Add a heading and subheading to your Title page to help readers understand what your Chapter is about.

Format your heading and subheading

To format your heading and subheading, highlight the text and a toolbar will appear. You can then choose to make your text bold, italicize it, change the color of the text, resize it, and even link it to a URL. You can also add a personalization token to give it your personal touch.

Note: If you can't access these formatting options on your Doc, it may be because custom HTML has been used to format your Title page text previously. Reach out to our Support Team to enable this feature on your Turtl Doc.

The CTA button

The CTA button is only available for Title pages with "Deep reading" navigation enabled. To enable Deep reading, access the Chapter settings from within the Title page editor and select Navigation settings.

You can personalize the CTA button in the window that pops up.

Notes:

  • When creating a new Title page, the newly created Title page will inherit the personalized CTA button copy.

  • You can remove the CTA button by selecting Linear navigation or toggling off the Content pages.

You can add further CTA button styles to your brand theme upon request. When this is set, options are available from the dropdown "Buttons style" in the sidebar under the "Subheading" field.

Every color palette always has a "Default" button style set. So one can always choose between "Default" and other preset CTA button styles. The visual result is immediately visible in the preview next to the sidebar.

Note: Please contact support to discuss updating your theme to include this option.

Apply additional styles

You can choose the style and alignment of your headings using the drop-downs below. Try to pick a combination that works well with your chosen image/video.

Finally, choose the color theme for your section using the color palette
